Africa Open Days

So I’m just from having a cup of coffee with two local Fedora amabassadors, Kennedy Kasina and Frankie Mangoa.

For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been exchanging emails along with a couple of other Fedora ambassadors as well as Pierros – http://pierros.papadeas.gr – regarding plans to have an event that will showcase open-source technologies through talks and demos on open tech in Africa and the first stop, well you guessed it, Kenya!
If all goes as planned, this should happen later on this year with talks / demos expected from Mozilla, Fedora, Python and other open source tech developers and enthusiasts. We are currently laying the ground work for this and should have more info available once we’ve settled on logisitics and dates.

I’ll be blogging more about this as new stuff comes up so stay tuned.
